Registering the controller to the server

In order for the smart home server to route to the controller, it must be registered. This action is mandatory only if you are using a cloud server Enterprise or Personal. If you are using your own server Local, you do not need to register the controller, go straight to the next step - add the controller to the project.

Tip. The easiest way to register the controller in automatic mode, how to activate it in the router is described in the documentation: Activating API access.

Open the smart home server and go to the Routing section. In the router row, click on the Access to router button and specify access to the router: login and password.

Please note that for security reasons, these data are not stored on our server. They are stored in the browser and are deleted from it after closing it, or if you click Reset Password. If everything has been done correctly, the access button will turn green.

Click on the plus symbol at the beginning of the line, in the window that opens, in addition to the VPN connection settings, a list of your controllers will appear.

Let's add a new controller, for example its IP address will be 192.168.88.150.

As soon as you edit its address, the system will automatically suggest its port. Each controller should have its own unique port, so we recommend not changing it unnecessarily. Click Save and our controller is connected to the server.

Конроллер успешно зарегистрирован! Теперь Вы можете выполнить следующий шаг: добавление контроллера в проект.

Note. Note, we connected the controller to the server automatically using API access to the router Mikrotik. However, if you are using your alternative router, in this case, adding the controller will require you to perform a number of independent actions on the router. First of all, you will need to convert the controller's dynamic IP address to a static one. Then, you will need to configure port forwarding between the router's IP address on the VPN network with the ports specified. For this example, the end result should look like this: 10.10.96.231 : 31150 <=> 192.168.88.150 : 80.
